About The Test
Poly and perfluoroalkyl substances, PFAS, are a group of man-made organic chemicals commonly found in many everyday products, including nonstick cookware, clothing made to be waterproof, certain types of carpet, food wrappers, and stain repellent fabric protectors. Water sources may become contaminated with PFAS through these manufacturing activities, landfill leachate, or runoff from fire-fighting foams, posing risk to your drinking water. PFAS take a long time to break down in the environment and they can bio-accumulate (build up over time), leading to the nickname forever chemicals. Your water sample will be analyzed using state of the art liquid chromatography – dual mass spectroscopy methods (LC-MS/MS) for the utmost in precision and accuracy.
Is This The Right Test For Me?
The PFAS Standard Test covers the 14 major PFAS chemicals, including PFOA and PFOS, common analytes of concern uncovered in recent news reports from around the country.
Please note that the nature of this particular test requires a 10 business day turn around time.
